HUNGER FIGHTER
Food security and rural development expert with an extensive international field experience and GIS acumen

Hello,
a bit about me:
The past 15 years have seen me put my "Hunger Fighter" passion to work by building up the required knowledge and skills to make an impact in the livelihoods of our "lifeguards", the farmers and especially smallholders farmers who represents the majority of farm workers in developing countries. As great things can happen when preparation meets opportunities, coupled with the passion to make an impact!
My goal is to be a part of the work that is done to alleviate poverty and ensure food security for people around the World, especially for smallholder farmers. I hope the next 15 years and plus will allow me to play an integral part in that fight in order to reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) before 2030 and surpass them!
I have been working with less fortunate, especially in Africa, and trying to come up with adequate solutions to help them better their life. I graduated in December 2013 with a PhD in Geography and Environmental Systems, with a focus on agricultural systems. My research looks at correlations between occurrence of genetic diversity and human and natural induced factors; in other words, how farmers cultural preferences and environmental variables, in different agroecological regions, shape the genetic diversity makeup of certain cultivated species. I love what I do (sustainable use and conservation of biodiversity), knew since my first year of college what I wanted to specialize in, and so far, I have been pretty successful at it.
My experience has prepared me to offer companies/institutions expertise in all aspects of grant writing, research design, quantitative and qualitative data collection, data analysis and dissemination of results in several areas of expertise such as Agriculture and rural development, Surveys, Food security, GIS, Environmental Management, Management of Natural Resources, Non-Profit, Business Development and Genetic diversity analyses.
On a more personal note, I am a die "heart" romantic, nonetheless very down to earth, loving, smart, honest woman. I am also very opinionated, very passionate about every aspect of my life, both personal and professional. When I connect with people, it's for the long haul. I am very focused, but I also enjoy having fun, being around family and friends. I love the camaraderie that exists when people gather together and just enjoy being around each other. There are a lot of things I am not sure about in life, but one thing I am 100% sure about is that I have a lot to offer to the organization/company/institution I’ll be collaborating with.
